What it is
Hermes is another open source agent, built by Nous Research. It's lighter than OpenClaw and simpler to run, which makes it a good fit when you want an agent on a machine you already own, or when the job is mostly answering and looking things up rather than running your office.

Hermes is newer and the community around it is smaller. We run it where it fits and we'll tell you plainly when it doesn't.
